4 x 4 x 48 CHALLENGE
WHAT: David Goggin’s 4x4x48 Challenge is 4 miles, every 4 hours, for 48 straight hours. When I heard of this challenge, it reminded me of the incomprehensible challenge that parents who have lost a child to SUDC (Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood) go through every day.
WHY I’m running: I’m raising pledges per mile ran for Team Vienna. Local NJ community member Dr. Denise Wunderler and her family lost their daughter, Vienna, to SUDC. I will be running this challenging event to support Team Vienna’s mission of SUDC awareness, education, and research support. Vienna was two months short of her 3rd birthday when she fell asleep watching TV at home in Holmdel, NJ, and never woke up.
Knowing Dr. Denise for years, she has an unstoppable work ethic, and her nonprofit is going to have a major impact for future families who may suffer through such a tragedy.
