Team Vienna – SUDC Awareness Gear
Thank you for finding this page and purchasing Team Vienna gear to help support our mission of awareness and research support for SUDC (Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood), while honoring our sweet, darling Vienna. Vienna was healthy and 2 months shy of 3 years old when she fell asleep on our family room carpet in New Jersey, and never woke up. Her death was categorized as SUDC after a thorough investigation, including an autopsy, death scene investigation, and medical record review. Her genetic studies did not reveal a cause of death. Shockingly, SUDC affects kids 1-18 years old, and most physicians have never even heard of it, as it is not included in medical education. Currently, there is no public or federal funding. SUDC is one of the most under-recognized medical tragedies of our time.
Our new logo for our new 501c3, nonprofit, Team Vienna 4 SUDC Awareness Inc., is featured on our gear. The handprint on the front is from Vienna’s last piece of artwork, and the V with the halo represents how I now sign her name on family cards.
Please see Vienna.team to learn more about Vienna, SUDC, to donate, and to get involved.
JOIN TEAM VIENNA
The Saturday between Mother’s Day and Memorial weekend, each year in May, will be Vienna’s Day of International SUDC Awareness. Please wear Team Vienna gear and walk/run/hike/bike/climb/be active in Vienna’s honor, wherever you are that day. Then send a picture to TeamVienna2018@yahoo.com, or post it directly to our facebook page, Team Vienna – SUDC Awareness (or Denise Wunderler) or Instagram #teamvienna4sudcawareness Bonus: please hold a sign “Team Vienna – your location” with the date for your picture. In 2018, our first year, there were hundreds of people, dozens of sites across the USA, and 5 countries overseas remembering Vienna on that day. It was amazing! There is power in numbers, and that’s why YOU are so important to our awareness mission!
Please remember her and talk about her. She will always be one of our 3 precious Vs. Thank you.
